Hi, my name is Tom Alessi and I originally built SSD to make my life easier.  One of the most important things that I've learned from working in technical operations for over 15 years is that keeping your users and customers updated about the status of mission critical services is paramount.  I was dissatisfied with the availability of tools that would allow my team to easily provide this transparency so I decided to build one.

If you have ideas about how to make SSD a better tool, please feel free to send me a suggestion or feature request.
